Rugaro

A firm specialised in technology asset governance. Independent reading, executive judgement and roadmap for organisations where technology already underpins the business but is not yet governed as what it is.

The firm

We are not a technology consultancy

Rugaro does not come in to build new technology. It comes in to read what is there.

There is no development team waiting on the other side of the reading. Rugaro does not distribute platforms or integrate systems. Its structural position is that of an independent specialist: it enters, reads, delivers judgement, and the client decides what to do with it.

The boutique model is not a temporary constraint. It is the condition that makes the independence, depth and judgement Rugaro offers possible.

A firm that executes after the reading has a structural incentive, conscious or not, to find the problem that justifies its solution. Rugaro does not have that agenda. It can say the system is in better shape than the internal team believed. It can say the problem is organisational, not technological. Neither conclusion costs Rugaro anything, because it does not depend on what comes next.

Who intervenes

The difference between a large firm
and a senior practitioner

Large firms have reputation, methodology and teams. They also have a characteristic that in this kind of work is a problem: they send whoever is available, not necessarily whoever has the specific experience the engagement requires.

The reading arrives with the solution already inside. The methodology gets applied. A junior team executes. The senior supervises from a distance. And the client receives a report that nobody can fully challenge because nobody fully understands it.

A senior practitioner is someone who has been where the client is. Who has been responsible for critical technology. Who has made architecture decisions under pressure, managed technical debt with insufficient resources, and explained to a board why the system does not scale.

That background is not acquired in a consulting project. It is acquired by carrying the responsibility. When Rugaro enters to read a technology asset, the person entering recognises what they see because they have lived it. That changes the quality of the reading, the depth of the questions and the credibility of the conclusions.
